Mrs. Julie Evans - Principal

Mrs. Evans is a native resident of the Brazosport community and is married to Kurt Evans. She has two daughters, Jamie and Jennifer. Mrs. Evans taught in the Brazosport Independent School District for 16 years and served as an assistant principal for three years at A.P. Beutel and Gladys Polk Elementary Schools before coming to Bess Brannen.

At Bess Brannen Elementary we believe, we can make a difference in children's lives. As educators we value the process of education. From our own childhood we can remember teachers who took us by the hand and guided our steps, who gave us support and helped us to believe in ourselves and gave us the tools to think independently. For many, school represents the transition from ignorance to knowledge and childhood to maturity. As principal, I believe there is no greater opportunity to leave a positive influence on a child than while in school. Let that influence be....that we did make a difference! Is there anything more noble or honorable than making a difference in a child's life? At Bess Brannen we believe we can and do make a difference in children's lives.

Meet the Assistant Principal
Daniel LeFave

Daniel LeFave

Daniel LeFave, originally from Austin, has worked for Alvin ISD, Austin ISD and Angleton ISD before becoming a member of the BISD team four years ago as an art teacher at Brazoswood High School. With a BFA from Texas State in Theatre and with teaching certifications in English, Theatre, Art and Special Education, he has had the opportunity to teach a variety of courses at varying grade levels. Daniel recently finished his Masters in Educational Administration with Lamar University, and is looking forward to starting at Bess Brannen Elementary School this year as the assistant principal, along with his daughter, who will be beginning kindergarten there as well. His two defining philosophies of education are the support and growth of teachers to impact student achievement, and the integration of fine arts disciplines into the core curriculum to increase engagement and retention.
